Hopkins and Sons did a fantastic job with my move. The workers were all fast, careful, and friendly. I had an old dresser that started falling apart when they tried moving it, so one of them drilled in some screws. I also had an expensive bed that required extra care, but they handled it very well. For the price they charged, it was a great value that made my move far less stressful than I expected!
I used Hopkins to move - they sent three guys they worked tirelessly the entire time and they were all extremely polite. They were careful with my belongings, respectful of my home and the price was very reasonable, are used them because my mother recommended them and she had a similar experience.
In contrast, the 2 men and a truck move that I was just part of, had the movers working at a good pace, and they were polite and got the job done.
I used Hopkins and Sons for a move, and then was part of a move one week later with 2 men and a truck. The difference was distinct, and I have no other affiliation with either. Both companies accomplished the move, but the Hopkins and sons crew did not do what the estimator represented. First, the estimator encouraged me to leave my metal filing cabinets filled, and said that the crew would load them as is. However, the crew refused to load them until I unloaded the drawers - unpleasant rushed work as I filled my car with files. Then, the transport time was excessive. They took 1hr 50 minutes when google maps said that the travel time is 1hr 7 minutes. Finally, while unloading, they would not stop complaining about how heavy the boxes were, and left one for me outside. After this, I complained to the company, and they investigated. After speaking with the crew, the president of the company politely called me a liar about the filing cabinets and the travel time. She backed her crew's claim that they never asked me to unload the filing cabinets, and her crew's story about taking less driving time.
Hopkins & Sons are amazing!!! The movers are fast& the staff is friendly.I don't plan on moving anytime soon, if I do they'll be my first call to get started.
My husband and i have used Hopkins and Sons twice, once for our move from our apartment to our first home then recently for a move from our 1st house to a larger home. The gentleman that came to do our estimate for our 2nd move was the manager from the group of guys who moved us the first time, we loved seeing the longevity of their employess. They also were effecient and easy to work with, our settlement was on a Monday they came and packed us up on Friday and kept the truck over the weekend since that was more cost effective than packing us up on Sunday. Everything arrived in the same condition it left us in, they put down sheeting to protect our new floors and took away all the boxes and moving debris they could when they left, if we ever move again they are the only place I'm calling!
I resent that the Hopkins and Sons crew felt entitled to milk the clock for the drive, and don't appreciate the attitude from the crew or the company president.
